The beach of Cox’s Bazar,
one of the prime attractions of Bangladesh, is a perfect
place for holiday makers and sun seekers. Situated to
the northeast of the Bay of Bengal, Cox’s Bazar is a 120
km stretch of unbroken sandy sea beach. A 160 km road
journey from port city of Chittagong or a 45-minute air
journey from Dhaka brings you to this longest beach of
the world with its endless miles of golden sands,
towering cliffs, surfing waves, and rare conch shells.
The beach gently slopes down to the blue water of the
Bay of Bengal, blending with the lush green of the hills
in the background. The name Cox’s Bazar is derived from
the name of the British envoy Hiram Cox who dedicated
his life to the settlement of Arakan refugees after
World War II.
The main attraction of Cox’s Bazar is—you guessed it—the
beach. In addition, there are sight-seeing tours to
Buddhist villages and pagodas, visits to tribal
villages, conch shell markets, beach drives by open
jeep, trips to Saint Martin Coral Island and Moheskhali
Fishermen Island, which are the prime attractions for
visitors eager to explore the local culture and natural
beauty after enjoying sun and surf.

long natural beach!
